California is one of the most diverse places in the world. You can find snow covered pine tree forests, warm beaches, barren deserts and sprawling urban centers full of beauty and human decay. Owl Paws has touched upon the vast diversity of this environment within the soundscapes of their newest release, Smoke Rings & Diamonds. The EP is full of interesting musical arrangements that quietly bring out the emotions behind each track. Lyrically they are longing for love and more importantly acceptance within that love. It is obvious during the first listen that Tim Vickers (bass/lead guitar/piano/vocals) and Lucas Siobal (drums/vocals) have locked in with lyricist and rhythm guitarist Derek Ted to bring out the most cohesive and beautiful release of their storied career.
